"TESTING & TEMPTATION"

The sermon, centered on testing vs. temptation (1 Samuel 15:22–23), using Saul’s disobedience—sparing the Amalekite king and keeping spoils—, illustrates that obedience matters more than sacrifice and that rebellion brings consequences. It defines tests as God-allowed trials meant to reveal and strengthen faith, and temptations as enticements to disobey for short-term pleasure with long-term cost, illustrated by Saul and Esau. It teaches that temptation comes from the devil, the world, and the flesh, but believers can overcome through God’s presence, the Holy Spirit, and God’s Word, with God in your corner to provide a “way out.” Pastor Leo encourages perseverance: Tests are meant to grow believers spiritually (“no pain, no gain”). With God in your corner, He will provide a way out and His faithfulness leads to victory.
